Sarah Speer was re-elected to the Governing Board in 2016.
Sarah Speer is a Madison alumni whose children attend Madison Simis and Madison Meadows. She graduated with a B.A. in Government from Claremont McKenna College and went on to work in corporate marketing and public relations. She has served on several very successful district campaigns, including key roles such as Chairperson of “Preserve Madison” to fight district consolidation and Chairperson of the “Yes Yes for Madison” 2009 bond and capital outlay override campaign. She has recently served as the Chairperson of Simis’ Site Based Committee, helping to secure the International Baccalaureate Program for Simis and Meadows. Sarah will also be serving a two year term on the Madison Education Foundation Governing Board.
Sarah strongly believes we need to support our public schools. She believes one cannot overstate the connection between educational success and future prosperity. When schools are strong, everyone wins because they are the foundation of our community and the key to vibrant future economies. The Madison District has a well-earned reputation for strong schools. By serving on the Madison District Governing Board, Sarah Speer is honoring that tradition even as she strives to help Madison set new standards for educational excellence.
