1st Grade

P.E.

General physical education class focusing on safe, structured activities designed to improve motor skills and promote positive social interactions.

General Music

Foundational music class focusing on basic instrumental and vocal music skills. Class includes opportunities to sing and play a variety of instruments.

General Art

Foundational art class focusing on an introduction to visual art techniques through a variety of materials.

General Theater

Introduction to theater arts includes instruction on stage direction, improvisation and basic stage performance techniques.

Dance

Fundamentals in Dance: emphasis on skill development in a variety of dance styles including ballet, hip hop and lyrical. Designed for beginner dance student. In-school, class performances held multiple times a year.

2nd Grade

Dance

  • Fundamentals in Dance: emphasis on skill development in a variety of dance styles including ballet, hip hop and lyrical. Designed for beginner dance student.
  • Ballet/Lyrical: emphasis on skill development in Ballet and Lyrical styles of dance. Designed for students who have at least one year general dance experience.

3rd & 4th Grade

P.E.

General physical education: Instruction focus on safe, structured activities designed to improve motor skills and promote positive social interactions.

Music

  • Instrumental Music: Instruction focus on learning to read music and perform music with a variety of instruments individually or as part of an ensemble.
  • Vocal Music: Instruction focus on learning voice techniques to sing solo or in combination with or without music accompaniment.

Art

  • 2-D Art: focus on refining foundational art skills to create more complex pieces. Art displays multiple times throughout the year at school and district wide events as well as entry in art contests.
  • 3-D Art: focus on 3 dimensional art production including ceramics, fibers, cardboard, and other sculptures. Class will include technical theater instruction to support theater
    productions (ie: set and costume design)

Performance Theater

Theater arts: Instruction focused on stage direction, vocal technique for actors, script reading The emphasis of this class is on performing on stage.

Dance

  • Hip Hop: Instruction focused on learning street dance style choreography set to pop music. Instruction will include learning existing dance steps as well as learning to create original choreography. No dance experience necessary.
  • Dance 1: Instruction focused on fundamental skill development in a variety of dance styles including ballet, hip hop and lyrical. No dance experience necessary.
  • Dance 2: Instruction focused on continued skill development in a variety of dance styles with emphasis on ballet and lyrical styles. Designed for student with at least one year dance experience.
  • Dance 3: Instruction focused on continued skill development in a variety of dance styles with emphasis on hip hop and tap styles. Designed for student with at least one year dance experience.
