Letter from the Superintendent - 5-3-2018 - Madison School District

5/3/2018 – Letter from the Superintendent

Dear Madison Parents/Guardians,

I would like to personally thank you for your patience during the past week while Madison schools were closed. I am very pleased to announce that ALL Madison schools will be open on Friday, May 4. I am also pleased to say that extraordinary learning in a safe environment will resume for each school.

Given the number of instructional hours lost during the employee walkout days, many parents have inquired if the school year will be extended into the summer. Madison will fulfill the minimum number of instructional hours required without extending the school year. Therefore, the last day of school will still be Wednesday, May 23, 2018. The first day of summer break for students will be Thursday, May 24, 2018.

There are undoubtedly many questions. Please see the Q&A message posted on the Madison webpage, Madisonaz.org, for updated information. If you have specific questions about your child, please contact your school Principal or teacher.

Thank you again for your patience. Thank you for choosing Madison for your child’s education. I wish you the best during the remaining days of this school year and a very safe summer.

Sincerely,

Quinn R. Kellis, Ed.D.
Superintendent
